Oil fracturing proppant is mainly used for petroleum and natural gas exploration, especially when the well is 2000m or deeper. Inject high strength tensile ceramic proppants to a wellbore at the low permeable mineral deposit for closure fracturing treatment so that the cracks will not close with changing stresses so as to allow the petroleum and gas to flow more freely. This is so-called hydraulic fracturing which can ensure high flowability of petroleum and gas, improve their productivity, extend the service life of wells, and minimize the exploration cost.
Rich bauxite will be finely processed, later mixed with chemical reagent and phase-changing agent to make into balls of different sizes, and sintered at high temperature to be ceramic fracturing proppants. It has high tensile strength, low crushing rate, good sphericity, and environmental protection in the closure pressure condition, so it is an ideal substitude for mid and low strength proppants like natural quartz, glass balls, and metal balls. Practices have proved that ceramic proppants can improve the output by 30~50% and extend the lifespan of the wells, so it is a best choice in the fracturing treatment.

1. Working principle of rotary kiln for ceramic fracturing proppant The bauxite balls will be fed into kiln shell from kiln tail (upper end of kiln body). With the help of slow tilting rotation of kiln body, the balls will do circular rolling and move toward the kiln head (lower end of kiln body) at the same time. The balls undergo processes like decomposition and sintering in the shell and will be discharged from kiln tail to the cooler.
2. Features 2.1 The ring for kiln head is stainless steel and the liner is high tensile firebrick which can effectively protect the kiln body; 2.2 The kiln head and tail are sealed with fish scale which can greatly reduce the thermal loss; 2.3 The variable frequency drive can stably control the rotation speed. The final speed is 0.3~2rpm. The operator can adjust the speed according to the kiln condition and material bed. 2.4 The kiln body is fixed by girth gear through tangential spring plate. This bonding method not only can leave enough radiation space between girth gear and kiln body, but reduce the impact on meshing precision from the bending kiln body and buffer the vibration to extend the kiln liner’s lifespan. 2.5 The catch wheel has hydraulic catch wheel and mechanical catch wheel. Large rotary kilns mostly adopts hydraulic catch wheel as it can effectively adjust the up and down movement of kiln body.
